Happy Sunday! It’s a long weekend for most people (Happy Memorial Day!) and it’s been a sunny and lazy one at that. I just finished eating some horrible food (I’m blaming my healthy eating habits this week. Moderation, right?) and am currently enjoying the activity of doing nothing. I’m finally getting around to watching the 20/20 piece on Sunset Boulevard featuring Queen Caveat. I’ve already seen me rocking out at The Viper Room and front row at The Roxy. The piece definitely doesn’t put one of my favorite places in LA in the brightest of lights, but I’m certainly craving some Rainbow fries and live music right now.

Not sure if this week will be the week I get out again, but my goodness, there are some amazing shows on the horizon. One of my favorite new artists, Ed Sheeran, is opening for Snow Patrol Tuesday night at The Hollywood Palladium, LMN band love Lakes is at Bootleg Bar Thursday, and former LA resident Jay Nash has shows Weds and Sunday at The Hotel Cafe and Saint Rocke.

This week has been all about paper reading/writing…not a lot of music listening…although there has been some Veronica Mars watching and that show has an excellent soundtrack. Also, I did make it out to The Wiltern Friday night for Ingrid Michaelson. I am a big fan of her latest album, Human Again and, as I anticipated, the new songs translated quite well to an exciting live show. Plus, LMN faves Harper Blynn opened and they are always a treat.

Speaking of the NYC-based band, Harper Blynn are playing a show at The Hotel Cafe Tuesday night that will be part of a live recording. I imagine this will be a particularly good one. That’s just the start of all the great shows happening in LA this week. Here are my recommendations:

I survived the weekend in the desert. I think my body is still recovering from the shock of not being in the 100+ degree weather. I’m hoping to write up a post featuring the highlights of my Coachella experience and some pictures.
